Вчера някой ме попита какво означава „око за око, зъб за зъб“.

Изход 21:24 Око за око, зъб за зъб, ръка за ръка, крак за крак,

И аз отговорих:

Еврейската система на преподаване твърди, че ако някой избие окото ви, вие също трябва да избиете едното си око. Ако избиете зъб, трябва да избиете зъб.

Исус подхваща тази тема и я заменя с посланието:

Галатяни 5:14 Защото целият закон се изпълнява в една дума: „Обичай ближния си като себе си“.

И тъй като според него това не е достатъчно разбираемо, той го прави основна тема в своята Проповед на планината. В който той казва:

Обичайте враговете си.

Матей 5:43 Чували сте, че е казано: „Обичай ближния си“ и мрази врага си.[5] 44 Но Аз ви казвам: обичайте враговете си и се молете за тези, които ви гонят, [6] 45 за да бъдете чада на вашия Отец, който е на небесата. Защото той кара слънцето си да изгрява над злите и над добрите и изпраща дъжд на праведните и на неправедните. 46 Защото, ако обичате онези, които ви обичат, каква награда ще имате? Не правят ли и бирниците същото? 47 И ако си добър само към братята си, какво специално правиш? Не правят ли езичниците същото? 48 Затова ще бъдете съвършени, както е съвършен вашият Отец, който е на небесата.

Самата Библия има твърдения за най-висока стойност. Той няма да предвижда доставки на оръжия като тези, които в момента се правят за Украйна.

Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn!

Das hat mich doch gestern jemand gefragt, was „Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn“ bedeutet.

2Mo 21,24 Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn, Hand um Hand, Fuß um Fuß,

Und ich habe geantwortet:

Das jüdische Lehrsystem vertrat die Auffassung, dass wenn man Dir ein Auge ausschlägt, Du auch ein Auge ausschlagen sollst. Wenn man Dir einen Zahn ausschlägt, Du einen Zahn ausschlagen sollst.

Dieses Thema greift Jesus auf und ersetzt es durch die Botschaft:

Gal 5,14 Denn das ganze Gesetz ist in dem einen Wort erfüllt: »Liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst!«

Und weil dieses seiner Meinung nach noch nicht selbsterklärend genug ist, macht er es auch in seiner Bergpredigt zu einem Hauptthema. In dem er meint:

Liebe Deine Feinde.

Mt 5,43 Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt ist: »Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben« und deinen Feind hassen.[5] 44 Ich aber sage euch: Liebt eure Feinde und bittet für die, die euch verfolgen,[6] 45 auf dass ihr Kinder seid eures Vaters im Himmel. Denn er lässt seine Sonne aufgehen über Böse und Gute und lässt regnen über Gerechte und Ungerechte. 46 Denn wenn ihr liebt, die euch lieben, was werdet ihr für Lohn haben? Tun nicht dasselbe auch die Zöllner? 47 Und wenn ihr nur zu euren Brüdern freundlich seid, was tut ihr Besonderes? Tun nicht dasselbe auch die Heiden? 48 Darum sollt ihr vollkommen sein, wie euer himmlischer Vater vollkommen ist. 

Die Bibel selbst hat also die höchsten Wertansprüche. Waffenlieferungen wie derzeit an die Ukraine wären in Ihr nicht vorgesehen.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth!

Someone asked me yesterday what “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” means.

Exodus 21:24 An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot,

And I answered:

The Jewish teaching system held that if someone knocks out your eye, you should also knock out one of your eyes. If you knock out a tooth, you should knock out a tooth.

Jesus takes up this topic and replaces it with the message:

Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

And because in his opinion this is not self-explanatory enough, he also makes it a main topic in his Sermon on the Mount. In which he says:

Love your enemies.

Matthew 5:43 You have heard that it was said, “You shall love your neighbor” and hate your enemy.[5] 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,[6] 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Don't the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you are kind only to your brothers, what special do you do? Do not the Gentiles do the same? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.

The Bible itself has the highest value claims. It would not provide for arms deliveries such as those currently being made to Ukraine.
